Just a little help for those who might feel tongue-tied or at a loss of what to say when wanting to be helpful.

I’ve been on both sides of this equation, and I concur…these replies seem to resonate with my experience.

    Certainly more constructive than crying along! I recall a ‘Bab Ballad’ by WS Gilbert, of Gilbert and Sullivan fame, that related how someone wept themselves silly in sympathy and the recipient of this demonstration was NOT consoled thereby!
